FATF: Mauritius fully compliant

FATF: Mauritius fully compliant

07/09/2022
Mauritius fully compliant with the FATF 40 recommendations.

Mauritius is now classified as "largely compliant" with the 15th recommendation of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT).

It thus becomes the only African country fully compliant with all 40 recommendations. This is better than many more “developed” nations and is a is a reward for its high level of commitment in the fight against money laundering, terrorism and proliferation financing.

As a reminder, Mauritius had left the FATF watch list in October 2021 and Monaco in May 2022.
